Cosmetics Overview
Cosmetics let you customize your character with hats, gadgets, pets, particle effects, mounts, and more. Most cosmetics can be purchased using 
Mythical Essence, with each category accessible through your 
Cosmetics menu. See What is Mythical Essence? to learn how to earn it.
If you're subscribed to MYTHIC+, you'll automatically get a 20% discount on all cosmetic purchases made with Mythical Essence.
Every category page includes a 
filter item that lets you toggle between viewing all available cosmetics or only the ones you've unlocked, handy for quickly finding something to equip. Categories are also paginated, so if you're looking for something specific, the filter can help narrow things down.
A 
clear button is also available. On the main Cosmetics menu, this unequips everything at once. On an individual category page, it only removes whatever is equipped from that category.

Hats
Wear something stylish on your head. No rank required.
Gadgets
Fun, wacky items you can use in the Lobby. No rank required. Some gadgets interact with other players, like a tsunami wave that launches you into the air or a swarm of bats that knocks you around. If you'd rather not be affected by other players' gadgets, you can toggle

Gadget Interactions from the Gadgets menu.
Particle Effects
Visual effects that follow you around. No rank required.
Pets
Summon a loyal companion to follow you around. No rank required.
Projectile Effects
Customize the trail left behind by thrown projectiles. No rank required.
Player Titles
Display a unique title above your name. No rank required to display one, titles are earned rather than purchased, see below for more on how these work.
Emotes
Expressions for everyone to see. Requires VIP or higher to equip.
Mounts
Ride through the Lobby in style. Requires HERO or higher to equip.
Name Color
Change the color of your name in chat. Requires ASCENT or higher to equip.

Glow Color
Add a glowing outline to your character. Requires MYTHIC or higher to equip.
Exclusive & Reward Cosmetics
Not every cosmetic can be purchased. Some are tied directly to your rank, milestones, or limited-time events, making them a true badge of honor.
Rank-Exclusive Cosmetics
Each rank unlocks certain cosmetics that can't be bought with Essence, only by owning that rank or higher. Check the comparison table on the Ranks page of our store for the full breakdown.
Seasonal Unlocks
Some cosmetics are tied to limited-time events and can never be purchased afterward. For example, players who logged in during Valentine's Day 2026 permanently unlocked a Love projectile trail of red hearts.
Player Titles
Player Titles are one of Mythrend's most unique features, small "flexes" displayed above your name that show off major achievements or event participation. Titles aren't purchasable, you earn them. For example, the [Mistletoe Mischief Managed] title was awarded to players who found 125+ hidden Grinch heads during our 2025 Winter Event. Other titles are tied to milestones, like [Happy Hopper] for reaching 150 Block Shuffle wins. See Player Titles & Milestones for more examples.
Name Colors
Name colors work a bit differently than other cosmetics. You'll automatically unlock the base color for every rank up to and including your own (PLAYER's gray, VIP's blue, HERO's green, and so on), so you can always pick from any rank tier at or below yours. Beyond that, standard Minecraft colors are unlocked as global milestone rewards as you level up. For example, reaching Network Level 35 unlocks Dark Green. Glow Colors
Currently, Light Purple is the only available glow color. We're exploring how to introduce additional colors in the future.
The Preview World
