The Achievements Menu
Mythrend replaces Minecraft's default Advancements screen with its own Achievements menu, opened with the same key (default L).
If you're inside a gamemode, pressing this key opens that gamemode's achievements menu, made up of three sections: Milestones, Weekly Goals, and Challenge Advancements. In the main Lobby, it opens your Global Milestones, tied to your overall Network Level. See Understanding Leveling & XP Progression for more on global progression.
Milestones
Milestones are long-term goals tied to your overall stats in a gamemode, things like total targets found, games won, or blocks mined. Completing a milestone permanently unlocks a Player Title you can equip from your Cosmetics menu. See Player Titles & Milestones for the full list of titles and what they require.
Weekly Goals
Weekly Goals refresh on a set schedule and reward XP and Mythical Essence on completion.
Reset Time
Weekly Goals reset every Sunday night into Monday (Eastern Time).
Block Shuffle
Each week brings three goals, things like finding a set number of targets, winning a number of games, or playing a number of matches. Completing each grants Block Shuffle XP and Essence.
Survival
Survival's weekly quests are tied to the Lobby NPCs you'll meet early on. Each NPC offers a multi-stage storyline with its own objectives:
Maeve Haycroft needs help with the farms.
Marlowe Copper is listening to something deep within the mountain.
Darric Emberstone is keeping watch over a Nether portal that won't stay sealed.
Each stage of these questlines rewards Survival XP, with a bonus of Mythical Essence upon full completion. New stages and storylines continue to be added over time.
Challenge Advancements
Challenges are smaller, more specific tasks that reward XP when completed. Some are one-time (complete once, ever), some are repeatable (can be completed again and again), and some are per-game (reset every match).
A few examples from Block Shuffle: Avid Spelunker (mine 50 ores, repeatable), Babysitter (interact with a baby villager, one-time), and Target Terminator (find 25 targets in a single game, per-game).
A few examples from Survival: Deep Down (reach Y-level −55, one-time), Bee Guardian (collect honey from full hives 25 times, one-time), and Aquatic Supplier (fish up 50 items, one-time).
Keep an eye on this menu while you play, completing challenges as you go is a great way to earn extra XP without going out of your way.
Vanilla Advancements (Survival Only)
Since Mythrend takes over the Advancements key, your progress toward Minecraft's built-in advancements isn't lost, it's tracked through the Challenge Advancements section in Survival, where completing them rewards Survival XP on top of the usual advancement.
This only applies in Survival. Vanilla advancements aren't tracked or rewarded in any other gamemode.
Advancements are grouped into the same categories you'd recognize from vanilla Minecraft: Story, Husbandry, Adventure, Nether, and End. The further into each category you progress, the more XP you'll earn, with late-game advancements like defeating the Ender Dragon or obtaining an Elytra rewarding significantly more than early ones like mining your first stone.
Your progress in each category is visible from the Statistics menu in your
Player Profile.
