How Sign-In Errors Work
If something goes wrong while signing in with Microsoft, Mythrend shows an Authentication Failed page with an error category and a specific message, for example:
Authentication Failed
Error 404 - Minecraft Profile Failure
Perhaps you do not own a license for Minecraft?
If this issue persists, please notify an administrator.
Find your error category below (shown right under "Authentication Failed" on your screen), then match the exact message underneath it.
OAuth Callback Missing
The sign-in process was interrupted before completing. This usually happens if you closed the Microsoft sign-in window early, or denied the requested permissions.
Try signing in again and accept all permissions Mythrend requests.
Microsoft Token Failure
AADSTS70000: The provided value for the 'code' parameter is not valid. The code has expired.
The sign-in link took too long to complete, or was reused after already being used once. Start over from mythrend.net/login.
Unable to convert refresh token to MC token. Please try again later.
A temporary issue refreshing your session with Microsoft. Try logging out and signing in again.
Other AADSTS codes / Unknown error.
These messages come directly from Microsoft and can vary. Starting the sign-in process again resolves it in most cases.
Email Request Failure
User does not appear to have a visible email address.
Mythrend needs permission to view your account email. Make sure you accept all permissions on Microsoft's consent screen, including profile and email access.
XBL Authentication Failure
Unable to authenticate XBL from MC refresh token. Please try again later.
A temporary issue communicating with Xbox Live. Wait a few minutes and try again.
XSTS Authentication Failure
The account is banned from Xbox.
This account has an active Xbox Live ban, resolve it directly with Microsoft/Xbox Support.
This Microsoft account does not have an Xbox profile.
Visit xbox.com, sign in with the same account, and complete Xbox profile setup. Then try Mythrend again.
Xbox Live is not available in this region.
A Microsoft restriction tied to your account's region. This can't be bypassed through Mythrend.
Adult verification is required on the Xbox account.
Visit xbox.com and complete age verification, then try again.
This is a child account and must be added to a Family by an adult.
An adult needs to add this account to a Microsoft Family group before Xbox services can be used.
Unable to generate XSTS Token / Unable to generate XSTS user hash. Please try again later.

Minecraft Authentication Failure

Minecraft Profile Failure
Perhaps you do not own a license for Minecraft?
Mythrend couldn't find a Minecraft Java Edition profile on this account. Make sure you've purchased Minecraft Java Edition with this Microsoft account and launched the game at least once.
